PHC draft status
Technical review draft · 15 October 2026
Portable Human Context is a proposed standard maintained by EngramForge. The public materials comprise a whitepaper, candidate semantic specification, experimental exchange binding, validator utilities, synthetic examples and an optional DEC integrity adapter.
Available today
| Material | Scope |
|---|---|
| Whitepaper and candidate specification | Proposed meaning, authority and lifecycle requirements |
| Experimental binding | Bounded JSON grammar and cross-object consistency checks |
| Browser and command-line validation | Document validation with activation blocked |
| DEC adapter | Pinned schema, signatures, chain and manifest integrity |
| Qualification reference function | Composition over separately trusted service inputs |
| Standard and validator kit | Review documents, schemas, CLI libraries, tests and synthetic fixtures |
The implementation guide describes the additional service responsibilities. The kit does not implement a production importer, identity service, consent flow, encrypted exchange, deterministic replay or independently qualified service.
Licensing
First-party licensing and contribution terms have not yet been established. These materials are available for review but are not presented as a licensed open-source release. No first-party patent license or certification mark is granted by this draft.
The incorporated Azimuth DEC schema and public fixtures retain their upstream Apache-2.0 license and provenance in vendor/agent-dec/. That license applies to the identified upstream material, not automatically to the rest of the kit.
Verification status
The local verification record reports 102 passing validator tests for the identified source files. Those tests cover bounded parsing, selected schema evaluation, semantic consistency, DEC integrity and reference qualification checks using synthetic inputs.
All 30 planned end-to-end cases in the conformance plan remain not_run. Independent interoperability, production enforcement, external security review and deterministic replay have not been established. Unit tests do not close those gaps.
